If you are up for a drive and a long walk, St. Ninian's cave may be a place you would like to visit!
(It's a good idea to check on Historic Scotland's website that it's open before planning your trip.)
Wigtown
Martyrs' Stake Monument
This marks the place where two local women, Margaret McLachlan (63) and Margaret Wilson (18), were tied to stakes and drowned on 11 May 1685, for holding to the Covenanter's belief that Jesus Christ is the only head of the church.
